Command & Conquer: Generals - Return Mod

A freeware mod for C&C Generals Zero: Hour, this mod adds a range of new missions with new maps, unique abilities in skirmishes, and even a new balance and ranking system that adds extra dimensions to the original gameplay.

Plenty of new things to play with

There are 15 new missions, which adds extra gameplay, but there are also new units, buildings, upgrades, special powers, and a new fairness system that alters the game dynamic.

Graphics are not perfect

The musical and sound upgrades are obvious to anybody who has ever played the game before, especially when considering the new units and their new batch of sounds. However, despite the graphical upgrade being welcomed by the fans, it feels more like window dressing rather than something like a genuine HD upgrade as seen by games on the later Playstation consoles.

Recognisable rank system

This mod’s ranking system could be easily confused for the one in Stronghold Kingdoms. Instead, something such as ranking up to make characters almost un-killable would have easily added many new facets to the game.

Nothing short of a paid DLC

Considering the sheer weight of additions, including the changing up of the balance system, suggests this should have been paid DLC rather than a simple mod. It is free, and is still good value for money.

Changes AI mastery

The real winners are the people who like to play Skirmish maps against the computer. The skirmish maps have everything, from the unique abilities coded into the skirmish maps to all the extras like new units, upgrades, etc.

  • Pros

    • There are 55 new units.
    • Each skirmish map has a unique ability.
    • The balance system changes the game dynamic.
    • Twenty new special powers.
  • Cons

    • New balance features means new game exploits.
    • Some units are obvious re-skins with hit-point adjustments.
    • Graphics upgrade would have been nice.
    • New missions do not innovate.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
